The intent behind the Market Street Kitchen design is to blend current design aesthetic with the historical authority that is old Scottsdale. The original DC Ranch, in particular, holds an important place in the hearts and minds of the North Scottsdale community and the goal is to pay homage to that while creating a modern, high energy food and beverage establishment for the neighborhood, locals, their guests and everyone in between.
The overall design includes, primarily, the use of rustic materials (or those present at the time of the Ranch's birth) utilized in modern ways. A few examples are a lowered ceiling, which will be fabricated using sandblasted timber; aged natural iron will be used in the construction of a commanding floor to ceiling wine display: and distressed wood flooring will be used to clad primary focal walls. In an effort to reinforce authenticity, Edison bulb lighting will be used throughout for ambient glow and comfortable, inviting bentwood furniture will be provided for dining and bar seating purposes.
To add to the effect of "old meets new", vintage photography taken from the original DC Ranch will be incorporated in various mediums-glass appliqué, framed art, murals - throughout the space. Guests will be greeted by photographs with the likes of E.O. Brown, the father of DC Ranch and his successor, son E.E. "(Brownie)" Brown engaging in traditional Southwestern fare (cattle driving for example) throughout the course of the Ranch's timeline. These images will be enhanced with a cutting edge graphic arts package.
The wrap around, covered and all-season weatherized patio will offer an alternative, destination, gathering spot in it's own right. Complete with a fire pit, large community table and padded banquette seating, the MSK Patio will reach out to lunch and dinner guests as well as those seeking a casual cocktail/small "bites" appetizer environment.
All in all, the feeling is that Market Street Kitchen will appeal to younger crowds seeking an "energized" space for planned or impromptu social gatherings, but will resonate with mature crowds seeking casual, fine dining and a little bit of local history.
The restaurant will accommodate a total of approximately 130 Guests. The dining room area will seat approximately 40, the Bar area will seat 30, a semi private wine room will accommodate 30 and the outdoor, all-weather patio will seat 48.
Market Street Kitchen is located at the center of Market Street at DC Ranch in the heart of North Scottsdale, at Pima Road and the Thompson Peak Parkway. This beautiful outdoor shopping center showcases restaurants offering a variety of culinary experiences, unique shopping boutiques and specialty stores, and community business conveniences. M.S.K. will be located in the combined spaces that formerly were occupied by Krispy Kreme Donuts and Autostrada next door to the newly opened Mia Francesca's Restaurant and across the street for Armitage Bistro.
